Dua Lipa's Potential Performance and Exciting Lineup at ICC World Cup Final in Ahmedabad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to reveal its plans for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad, scheduled for Sunday. Recent reports suggest that Hollywood pop sensation Dua Lipa may grace the event with a performance at the musical ceremony. This speculation gained traction following Dua Lipa's interaction with players during an AskDua session before the first semi-final between India and New Zealand.
The singer engaged with cricket stars including Kane Williamson, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Daryl Mitchell. Questions about her favorite songs led to hints about her potential performance at the World Cup opening and closing ceremony. Dua Lipa mentioned the songs 'Physical' and ‘One Kiss’ as possibilities and even shared some dance tips with Daryl Mitchell.
If Dua Lipa does take the stage at the ICC World Cup final, it would mark her return to India after four years. The Grammy Award winner's last performance in India was in November 2019 at the OnePlus music festival in Navi Mumbai, where she shared the stage with Katy Perry.
In addition to Dua Lipa's potential performance, the Indian Air Force has announced an air show at the Narendra Modi Stadium before the final. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team is set to captivate the audience for ten minutes, with rehearsals scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
The star-studded final is expected to have prominent attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several union ministers. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also been invited. Cricket legends Kapil Dev and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are expected to join the audience, along with performances by Aditya Gadhvi, Jonita Gandhi, and Pritam.
In terms of the cricket action, India and Australia have secured their spots in the final after defeating New Zealand and South Africa, respectively, in the knockout stage. India, unbeaten so far, will face Australia, which lost its first two matches to India and South Africa in the league stage.
As the anticipation builds for the World Cup final, both teams have showcased impressive performances throughout the tournament. Australia, with five titles in seven final appearances, aims to secure a record sixth title, while India seeks its third World Cup victory.
Stay tuned for an exciting clash between two cricket giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where the musical extravaganza and thrilling cricket action promise an unforgettable Sunday for fans around the world.
