Veteran Telugu Actor Chandra Mohan Passes Away, Leaving Tollywood in Mourning



Chandra Mohan, the renowned Telugu actor, passes away at 80


Renowned Telugu actor Chandra Mohan, a stalwart of the industry, breathed his last at the age of 80 due to a cardiac arrest at Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital on November 11. The actor, survived by his wife and two daughters, had been

undergoing treatment for heart-related issues.

According to Apollo PRO Jagan, Chandra Mohan passed away around 9:57 am on Saturday. The final rites are scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on November 13.

The news of his demise reverberated through the Telugu film industry, with stars expressing their grief on social media.

Megastar Chiranjeevi reminisced about their bond, especially during the filming of 'Pranam Kharidu,' where Chandra Mohan delivered an outstanding performance in the role of a mute. Chiranjeevi expressed his deep condolences, acknowledging the personal loss of a close friend.

Jr NTR, known for his roles in films like 'RRR,' lamented the untimely death of Chandra Mohan, recognizing his significant contributions to Telugu cinema over the decades. He extended heartfelt condolences to the late actor's family.

Actor Sai Tej Dharam paid tribute to Chandra Mohan's memorable acting and characters, recalling the actor's ability to bring a smile to audiences' faces. He wished for the veteran actor's soul to rest in peace.

Film writer and director Sampath Nandi, who had the privilege of working with Chandra Mohan in 'Gautham Nanda,' expressed deep sorrow over the void left by the actor's demise. He highlighted the enriching experience of collaborating with Chandra Mohan, emphasizing that the late actor's contributions to cinema would be treasured forever.

Actor Aadi Saikumar conveyed his sadness at the news, describing Chandra Mohan as a truly remarkable individual. He offered his thoughts and condolences to the late actor's family during this difficult time.

Chandra Mohan, born Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao on May 23, 1943, in Pamidimukkala village, Andhra Pradesh, marked the beginning of his illustrious career in Telugu cinema with 'Rangula Ratnam' in 1966. Acting in 932 films, with 150 in lead roles, he garnered accolades, including 2 Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South. Some of his notable films include 'Shankarabharanam,' 'Seethaamalakshmi,' 'Padaharella Vayasu,' 'Siri Siri Muvva,' and 'Chandamama Raave.'

Chandra Mohan's demise has left a significant void in the Telugu film industry, and his contributions to cinema will be remembered with reverence.
